DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

YOU FEEL LIKE SOMETHING'S OFF, EVEN WHEN YOU'RE DOING ALL THE RIGHT THINGS:

You meditate.

You practice boundaries.

You go to therapy.

You keep trying to change yourself.

And still...

You feel overwhelmed, disconnected, reactive, or just empty...

like you're missing something essential.

THE TRUTH MOST OF US MISS:

Sometimes understanding isn't the part that's missing.

Talk therapy can help you understand your story. You can know where your patterns came from, recognize your triggers, and even know exactly what you'd like to do differently.

And still find yourself reacting in ways you don't fully choose.

You know you're safe, but something in you is still bracing.

You want to stay open, but you shut down.

You want to say what you need, but the words disappear.

You understand the pattern, promise yourself you'll do something different next time—and then find yourself right back in it.

Your understanding is valuable. It just may not be the part that needs more work.

Sometimes what needs attention is what happens beneath the explanation: the reactions that happen quickly, the ways you protect yourself, and what happens to you in the presence of another person.

That's part of what makes trauma so persistent. The past can continue to shape how you experience yourself, other people, and the world—even when you can explain exactly what happened.

Understanding yourself and experiencing yourself differently aren't always the same thing.

YOU CAN'T THINK
YOUR WAY OUT OF THIS.

In fact...

At a certain point, all the talking, thinking, and "healing" becomes part of the same loop.

We call it The Self-Improvement Trap.

This is where somatic therapy comes in.

We help you re-attune to what your body is communicating.

Together, we pay attention to the places where your usual ways of coping show up. With another person there beside you, you'll begin to discover what becomes possible when you don't have to meet those moments in quite the same way.

WHAT MAKES THE
SOMATIC INTEGRATION METHOD™

DIFFERENT?

We work with the patterns as they show up in real time,
not only the story behind them.

Nervous-System Regulation

Recognize anxiety, shutdown, and overwhelm earlier while developing more capacity to stay present, respond, and recover.

Somatic Processing

Listen to sensation, emotion, breath, posture, movement, memory, thought, and impulse as they arise, giving unresolved experience space to move, complete, and integrate.

Attachment & Relational Repair

Explore what happens around closeness, trust, boundaries, needs, conflict, and connection, and experience something different within the therapeutic relationship.

We never rush the process or push for emotional breakthroughs.

We follow what is present, work at a pace your system can stay connected to, and allow change to develop through experience rather than force.

Real-Time
Co-Regulation

 Understanding the Pattern

We explore how past experiences still shape what your system can hold, whether that's conflict, closeness, joy, pleasure, vulnerability, or intensity.

Guided Somatic Exploration

We slow things down and notice what's happening as it happens, whether that's sensation, emotion, memory, thought, tension, movement, an impulse, or something harder to name.

Relational Repair

Patterns shaped in relationship come alive in relationship. We take a close look at what happens around trust, boundaries, and closeness, then create room for something different.

One shared method.

We're partners, co-founders of The AUM Institute, and co-creators of The Somatic Integration Method™.

You’ll work one-on-one with either Aaron or Alissa. We share the same therapeutic foundation while bringing our own personality, experience, and way of relating to the work.

Our approach has been shaped through years of training in trauma, attachment, nervous-system regulation, relational therapy, contemplative practice, and our own lived experience of relationship, family, rupture, repair, and growth.

During your consultation, we can help you decide which of us feels like the better fit.
