WHO YOU'RE SITTING ACCROS MATTERS...Â
Trauma can take hold when something overwhelms us and we don’t have the relational resources to process and integrate what happened.
And because so much of what shapes us happens in relationship, some of the deepest healing happens there too.
For some women, working with a male therapist can bring trust, approval, authority, closeness, disappointment, or being seen into the room in ways that matter.
For some men, working with another man makes it easier to talk honestly about anger, sex, shame, addiction, failure, or relationships.
Because my work is somatic and attachment-focused, we don’t only talk about what happens in your relationships outside therapy. We can pay attention to what happens between us, as it happens.Â
BEING SEEN BY A MAN CAN BRING THINGS UP.
Â
You may notice yourself wanting my approval, appeasing, trying to explain yourself perfectly, becoming guarded, or assuming I’ll judge or misunderstand you.
We don’t have to analyze that from a distance. We can notice what happens in you, and between us, when it shows up.
Â
CLOSENESS CAN FEEL COMPLICATED.
Â
You may want connection and still find yourself pulling away, becoming guarded, over-accommodating, or losing track of what you actually want.
Working together gives us a place to notice what happens around closeness, need, boundaries, attraction, discomfort, and trust without forcing any of it.
CONFLICT DOESN’T HAVE TO MEAN DISCONNECTION.
Â
You may notice yourself defending, appeasing, shutting down, getting angry, or trying to make things okay the moment tension shows up between us.
We can stay with those moments long enough to understand what gets activated, what you need, and what it’s like to move through conflict without losing yourself or the relationship.
WHAT MAKESÂ THE
SOMATIC INTEGRATION METHOD™Â
DIFFERENT?
Together, we go beyond understanding why you respond the way you do. We work with what is happening in you, and when relevant, between us, as it happens.
Â
NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION
Learn to recognize anger, anxiety, shutdown, shame, or overwhelm earlier, and develop more capacity to stay present without immediately defending, pleasing, collapsing, or pulling away.

SOMATIC
PROCESSING
Alongside conversation, we pay attention to sensation, emotion, breath, posture, movement, impulse, thought, and memory.
When appropriate, this can also include consensual somatic touch. Touch is always optional and collaborative, and your boundaries and moment-to-moment responses are part of the work.
ATTACHMENT AND RELATIONAL REPAIR
We work with what happens around closeness, trust, boundaries, disappointment, conflict, authority, need, sexuality, and repair.
That can include what happens between us. You learn to stay more connected to yourself while remaining in relationship, rather than disappearing, appeasing, defending, or trying to control the outcome.
Meet Aaron
a male therapist for woman and men that want more than insight and coping strategies.
I work with women and men using a somatic, attachment-focused and relational approach. That means we pay attention not only to what you tell me, but to your attachment history and what happens in you, and between us, as we work.
My approach has been shaped by 20+ years of training, practice, and work in somatic trauma therapy, attachment therapy, relationship therapy, internal martial arts and traditional yogic systems.
It has also been shaped by my own experience of trauma, attachment injury, addiction, difficult relationships, divorce, bankruptcy, parenting, step-parenting, and having to confront the ways my own history continued to show up in the present.
I don’t assume that my being male is important to everyone. But if it matters to you, I won’t pretend it isn’t part of the room.
I’m less interested in helping you become a different version of who you think you should be, and more interested in helping you recognize and more fully inhabit who you already are.
 AREAS I SPECIALIZE IN
Anger, Anxiety & Overwhelm
Irritability, rage, pressure, worry, carrying too much, feeling like you’re always close to your limit, shutting down, or becoming immobilized.
Depression, ADHD & Shutdown
Difficulty starting or following through, procrastination, task paralysis, collapse, low motivation, or feeling unable to get yourself moving.
Addiction & Compulsive Behaviour
Substances, porn, sex, food, work, screens, or other ways of soothing or changing what you’re feeling when being with it feels like too much.
Relationships & Sexuality
Conflict, withdrawal, people-pleasing, loss of intimacy, sexual difficulties, shame, disconnection, or repeating the same dynamics with the people closest to you.
These can look like separate problems, but in my work, toxic shame is at the centre threading and fuelling them all.
They rarely show up one at a time. Many of the men I work with are dealing with several at once, and that has shaped the way I understand and work with them.
My approach comes from both professional training and lived experience through all of the areas I specialize in. I’m most interested in how these struggles interact, rather than treating each one as a separate problem to fix or manage.
